The Scream Queens alum previously announced her father’s death on social media, writing in an emotional Instagram statement that she was in “shock and devastation.”

Since then, Breslin has also advocated for her right to wear a mask and for other ways to stop the spread of COVID-19. Back in 2022, she spoke out when an Instagram user wrote "Who's the pathetic loser wearing a mask?" underneath a photo of her wearing a mask while riding a roller coaster in Las Vegas.

"That pathetic loser would be me, someone who lost their dad due to someone not wearing a mask and giving him Covid," Breslin wrote at the time, adding, "You can kindly go f--- off now."

Breslin has been candid about the hardships she has faced since her father’s death. After her January 2023 wedding to entrepreneur Ira Kunyansky, she thanked her brothers Spencer Breslin and Ryan Breslin for walking her down the aisle in his place.

"Happy belated #nationalsiblingsday to the 2 best big brothers a gal could dream of. No clue what I'd do without these cute weirdos," she wrote in the caption of the April 2023 post. "In all seriousness, Dad would be so proud of the amazing men you guys are. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!"

After Michael's death, both Spencer and Ryan shared their own Instagram posts reflecting on their dad's death.

"My father, Mike passed away this evening after battling Covid for the better part of the past three weeks and It's extraordinarily unfair," Ryan wrote. "My dad had plenty of hardships and obstacles in his life, but he always set an unparalleled example of will, determination, sticktoitiveness ... he overcame adversity and was a champion of the people he loved."

"I love this man that helped bring me into this world and raised me and loved my mother and my two amazing siblings," Spencer wrote in his own post. "Death is the one thing we all have in common, but never expect. Love you, Dad. Forever and ever."
