Abby From ‘Dance Moms’ Buckles Under Stress of Indictment

On Tuesday’s Dance Moms, the moms found out that Abby Lee Miller, their dance instructor, was charged with fraud of more than $750,000. She faces large fines and up to five years in prison.

The stress of the indictment must have gotten to her because she erupted at her dancers nonstop. That left us with quotes that sound borderline illegal. Here are few of them without any context: “I want girls between the ages of 6 and 8. They’re fresh, eager, and moldable.” “Melissa, your kid’s feet and legs suck. Let’s face it.”

“When a judge has to tell an 11-year-old their ankles were soft? That’s like a knife in my chest.”

However, her actions with context are not much better. While teaching Nia, a 14-year-old, her routine, she requested that Nia twerk. Nia’s mother, Holly, responded by saying, “If Abby thinks twerking is appropriate for a dance competition, she needs her head examined.”

Dance Moms airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm on Lifetime.
