Abbie Chatfield has pulled out of hosting duties on the upcoming Fridayz Live tour, due to an ongoing lawsuit against the headline act Jason Derulo. In a statement released on her Instagram on Friday, Chatfield said that she wouldn’t be “comfortable performing my duties as co-host while these legal matters are outstanding”.

“At this time, there is an active lawsuit involving the headline act, including an allegation of sexual harassment,” Chatfield wrote. “While these are presently allegations and there has been no resolution in court, I personally don’t feel comfortable performing my duties as co-host while these legal matters are outstanding.”

Abbie Chatfield Removes Herself From Fridayz Live Lineup

“This is my personal stance and I have decided to remove myself from the lineup,” Chatfield continued. “I wish the other acts on the lineup the absolute best for their shows and am disappointed I can’t be there.”

In early October, Derulo was accused of quid pro quo sexual harassment and aggressive behaviour by singer Emaza Gibson – who was signed to Derulo’s label in August 2021. Gibson claims Derulo consistently made sexual advances towards her while they were working together, and accuses The Voice judge of dropping her from the label after he “turned cold” following repeated rejections.

Derulo subsequently denied the claims in a video on Instagram, calling them “false and hurtful”.

“I stand against all forms of harassment and I remain supportive of anybody following their dreams,” Derulo said. “I’ve always strived to live my life in a positively impactful way, and that’s why I sit here before you deeply offended, by these defamatory claims. God bless.”

Boyz II Men and Kelly Rowland are also headlining the upcoming Fridayz Live tour, which kicks off in Melbourne on Friday, 10th November.
