Aaron Carter Taking Time Off

I don't blame Aaron for wanting to take a break—social media gets the best of us most of the time!

Entertainment Tonight reports that Carter's announcement comes after a few weeks of consistent tweeting, which saw him call out Backstreet Boys fans he reportedly felt were defending his older brother and former boy band member, Nick.

Carter has been making headlines due to family drama and a Medusa-themed face tattoo; he also recently opened up about his mental health struggles.

Recently, Nick and sister Angel were granted restraining orders against Carter.

Aaron Carter's Troubles

Aaron has an obsession with guns and issues with mental illness. His family had to file a restraining order because of his erratic behavior.

But then he took to Instagram Live for several hours to tease new music to fans, reveal that he's starting a jewelry line, and announce that he will be moving soon, and it may not be to somewhere in California.

Carter sounded off against "Backstreet Boys fans" that he felt were defending his brother, Nick Carter, and Twitter users who said or implied that he needed to get psychiatric help.

Aaron Carter Sounds Off

Aaron has also made headlines recently for his decision to get a sizeable face tattoo.

He told ET in October why he got that large tattoo on his face.

"Medusa is my protector. If you want to come at me with some negativity, my Medusa will stare you in the eye and turn you into stone," Aaron said.

He says he 'staying away' from his family.

"Basically, after everything that's happened with the court stuff and everything, you know, I just want to stay away from my family for a while."

His brother, Nick Carter wrote on social media in September: "In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family. We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else."
