99 Homes, directed by Ramin Bahrani, follows a single father, Dennis Nash, who collaborates with the real estate agent, Rick, the same man who was responsible for his family’s eviction from their home. In the process, he learns about the unethical aspects of the business and decides to put them to his advantage.

Thanks to Dennis’ determination and confrontation with one of Rick’s men to get back his tools, which impressed Rick, leading him to hire Dennis. While in the real estate business, Dennis learns some of its dirty, unethical tactics and is tasked with evicting people, earning him the disapproval and criticisms of his acquaintances and family members. The film does a brilliant job of portraying Dennis’ moral dilemma and how it shapes his psyche.

Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon star as Dennis Nash and Rick Carver, respectively. Other cast members include Laura Dern, Tim Guinee, Clancy Brown, Noah Lomax, and Cynthia Santiago, to name a few.
