A Georgia deli owner reported Brandi Mallory's death with a 911 call on Nov. 9.

The Georgia man who called 911 to report what turned out to be Brandi Mallory's death told the dispatcher that there was a woman in a car in his lot who was not moving or breathing and did not "look right."

In the Nov. 9 call, obtained by TMZ, the man — the owner of a deli located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, near the Chipotle Mallory visited moments before her death — called 911 and told the dispatcher, “I’ve got what appears to be a dead body in a car parked in the parking lot.”

After the dispatcher connected the man with Emergency Medical Services EMS, the unnamed deli owner said that he was not sure what happened to Mallory. “I don’t know, there’s a girl laying in her car,” he said on the call. “She don’t look right.”

According to the man, the Extreme Weight Loss star did not react when he "knocked on the hood" of her car. “No movement, doesn’t look like she’s breathing,” he said on the call.

When asked if he was with her, the caller responded, “No, she’s in her car. I don’t do dead people.”

Before hanging up, the deli owner said he intended to look through his own security cameras to see what time Mallory’s car entered the lot, which was later determined to be around 5:53 p.m. on Nov. 8, according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE.

The Atlanta Police Department reported that the former reality star was last seen in surveillance footage driving to the restaurant, entering it to buy dinner and then returning to her car with her food. She never left the vehicle after that.

The following morning, after Mallory’s car sat alone in the lot for a few hours, the deli owner became worried and called the police.

Mallory’s loved ones honored her memory with a candlelight vigil on Nov. 12, and a memorial service will be held for her on Nov. 19, per her obituary.

Brandi Mallory died at age 40.

Last week, former Extreme Weight Loss trainer and host Chris Powell spoke with PEOPLE about his time on the show with Mallory — who starred on season 4 of the ABC series, which aired in 2014 — and the heartbreaking news of her death.

“It's so sad that she's gone because of who she was for so many, including myself,” he told PEOPLE. “She was just an incredible person.”

The late makeup artist and the personal trainer, 45, spent a year together as she embarked on her weight loss journey. According to Powell, she had an incredible work ethic, but it was her “spunky” personality and positivity that truly shined.

Powell said that during the show, contestants are often on their “best behavior” during the first couple weeks, and their true personality emerges later — but not Mallory, who was “one of [his] favorites.”

“She was so spunky right off the bat, and she just danced everywhere,” he told PEOPLE. “She was always just enrolling everyone in her positivity. It's funny because you're like, ‘OK, we'll see where this goes in two weeks’ … and she was still just that. Then after four weeks, she was still glowing. And then after two months I'm like, alright, she's legitimately just a bright, shining light for everybody around her.”

Even after her time on the reality series, Mallory continued her health journey through dance, sharing her passion for fitness — as well as her love of makeup — on social media.

“That girl could dance. And she always brought that energy with everything that we were doing,” Powell told PEOPLE. “She really owned the body positivity movement. It was great because she was very open about her struggles with her weight and everything, but the fact that she would just get out there and she would just fully express herself, you could feel how free she was.”

“And that in turn inspired so many other people to jump on board to accept and embrace and appreciate their bodies,” he said. “I just loved it because she became a symbol for that for so many people.”
