'90 Day Fiancé' Stars Karine Martins & Paul Staehle Confirm Split

Another "90 Day Fiancé" couple has ended their relationship. This time, it's season 6 stars Karine Martins and Paul Staehle, who have confirmed they are ending their marriage just one week after celebrating their second wedding anniversary. The duo tied the knot in 2017 and fans watched as the expecting couple was preparing for the delivery of their child in Martins' hometown of Brazil. The news comes just one day after Paul shared a cryptic post on his social media saying his wife “started divorce proceedings."

Looking For Lawyers:

According to Us Weekly, the only action that's been taken so far is Martins beginning her search for a divorce lawyer. "Yes, I am looking for a lawyer now,” she reportedly confirmed to the outlet. On Monday, fans questioned the status of their relationship after Paul shared a video of their 7-month-old son, Pierre, playing with a toy. He captioned the footage by writing, “Daddy’s gonna miss you.” Addressing the split on his Instagram story Tuesday, he explained that his goal is to get Pierre to the United States, with or without his wife.

Their Love Story:

Stating he's only doing Cameos, a company that pays Paul and Karine to share recorded messages with fans, until "midnight tonight,” the Kentucky native said they “will be unbookable” for the time being. As far as his next steps, Paul told fans, “I will probably go up [to] the Amazon to try to convince her to live with Pierre in [the] USA with or without me." He added, "I just want the best possible life for my son.” Prior to their separation announcement, the TLC stars revealed their home in Brazil had been burglarized and stated the robbers stole “everything of value." In Paul's statement about the breakup, he told fans the former duo is not starting a GoFundMe over the burglary. Stating they are “not creating” any type of charity because of the unfortunate incident, Paul also says they won't be “filing any type of insurance claim” for the damages. The "90 Day Fiancé" star added he has "to get back to work soon," adding that he prays "this ends as positivity as possible."

Paul and Karine started their romance online years ago. The duo tied the knot two years ago but that didn't go without a hitch. "90 Day" fans watched the couple struggle through a pregnancy and money issues. Just last week, Paul paid tribute to his wife on their anniversary. Sharing photos from their wedding day, he wrote, "Happy 2 year anniversary @staehlekarine and our never ending rollercoaster of a journey." Days later, Karine posted her own message regarding their anniversary. Apologizing for being late to celebrate, she captioned a series of family photos in her native language of Portegues and wrote, "Forgive me for not posting before It was a very tiring and busy days so Happy Wedding Anniversary." She added that the past 2 years have brought "so many good things" to their life including their son who she called "the best gift."

Other Season 6ers:

Karine and Paul aren't the only couple from season 6 who have bailed on their marriage. Most recently, Ashley Martson and Jay Smith called it quits after a rollercoaster ride in their marriage. She was recently seen grinding on "Bachelorette" stars Kamil Nicalek and Christian Estrada at a nightclub, something Jay is probably not happy about. "90 Day Fiancé" favorites Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Colt Johnson famously ended their marriage after he filed for divorce following an explosive fight that landed Larissa in jail. Jonathan and Fernanda have split too and he's since moved on with another girlfriend. It appears the only couples still intact from season 6 include Steven and Olga, as well as Kalani and Asuelu, who recently welcomed their second child.
