This 9-year-old cancer patient wants a card from you to celebrate his 'last Christmas' early

The family of a 9-year-old cancer patient is turning to the public to help him celebrate Christmas.

According to a GoFundMe page created by his mother, Jacob Thompson was admitted to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital on Oct. 11 for what his parents believe will be the last time.

Jacob, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma at the age of 5, is expected to pass away within a month.

According to his mother, the cancer has since spread to his head and hip, and recent attempts at treatment have been unsuccessful.

And since he is hospital bound, his family aims to bring the coming holiday to his bedside next week.

On the big day, his family plans to transform the hospital room into a winter wonderland with snow, a tree and even Santa Claus.

But his mother said Jacob has one very special request from anyone who is "inspired to reach out" to help add to his Christmas cheer: cards.

Jacob's already started receiving Christmas cards and hangs them on the walls of his hospital room.
