9 Michigan eateries ranked among Yelp's top 100 restaurants of the Midwest
Yelp's new list of top 100 restaurants in the Midwest includes nine spots in Michigan, spanning from Detroit to Hazel Park, Lake Orion Township to Grand Rapids.
While breakfast, lunch and brunch spot Bread and Yolk in Lake Orion came in at No. 14, two Detroit mainstays ranked lower. For example, the beloved Dime Store on Griswold in downtown Detroit was ranked No. 92 on the list. Dime Store owners recently announced a second location is planned for Rochester Hills.
Midtown Detroit's Selden Standard came in at No. 84.
Yelp's No. 1 restaurant in the Midwest is Blues City Deli in St. Louis, Missouri.
The top 100 list features eateries in a dozen states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

No. 14: Bread and Yolk, Lake Orion
No. 43: San Chez Bistro, Grand Rapids
No. 53: The Ocean Crab, Lansing (Google lists the restaurant as temporarily closed)
No. 70: Loui's Pizza, Hazel Park
No. 79: Real Food Cafe, Grand Rapids
No. 84: Selden Standard, Midtown Detroit
No. 92: Dime Store, Detroit
No. 96: KCM, Grand Rapids
No. 98: Butcher's Union, Grand Rapids
Yelp factored in the total volume and ratings of reviews posted between January 1, 2021, and May 1, 2023 to come up with this top 100. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of May 1, 2023.
