The eighth annual Taste of Jalisco Festival, featuring a carnival, music, food trucks and tequila tasting, will get underway next week in Cathedral City.

The event will be held Friday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, Feb. 4 in downtown Cathedral City, 68-600 E. Palm Canyon Drive, according to a statement from the festival.

The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. the first day with a raising of flags by Cathedral City Mayor Mark Carnavale, live entertainment from Outlaw Marachi, and the opening of the artisan market and carnival, according to organizers. Additionally, a tequila garden will be available for attendees who are 21 years old or older and a tequila tasting competition will get underway at 7 p.m.

Attendees can also head over to the neighboring Agua Caliente Casino at 9 p.m. the first night for an after-party with a performance from Nacho Bustillos and a full mariachi band, organizers said. It will also host free car show with more than 40 cars and trucks from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the last night.

"Partnering with Soundskilz and the City of Cathedral City, we are honored to host two of the festival's events here at the Cathedral City Terraza and play a part in bringing our community together," casino Senior Vice President and General Manager Todd Berendji said in a statement. "Delicious food, a fabulous car show, margaritas, Taco Flights, and an unforgettable after party, make this a must for everyone's calendar."

The weekend will feature live wrestling and tribute performances from Dreaming of You Selena and Carlos Santana Savor the Band, according to festival organizers. Both days are set to get underway at noon with the carnival starting an hour afterward. Feb. 3 is set to end at 11 p.m., but the festival will close out at 9 p.m. on Feb. 4.
