88.3 Life FM set to hold 30-year anniversary celebration at BCHS

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — 88.3 Life FM’s 30th birthday is coming up and will celebrate with a free family friendly event at Bakersfield Christian High School Saturday.

Ellie Quiroz, with 88.3 FM, joined 17 News at Noon to talk about the station’s humble beginnings, the upcoming celebration and shared some insight into how the radio station has thrived for the past three decades.

Quiroz shared some insight into what has kept the Christian radio station alive since its debut back in 1994. She credits listeners and business supporters that have continued to step up to financially support the station.

“We are running because of our listeners and we are trying to keep them inspired with God. We’ve done events, concerts, tours with them [listeners] anything you can think of trying to be present in the community, they show up and it just makes it even sweeter with them.”

The 30-year anniversary celebration is happening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bakersfield Christian High School May 4.
