Here comes the Ax…

Here comes the Smasher…

The Demolition, Walking disaster…

Pain and destruction are our middle names!

I know I can’t be the only person in the world that wants to hear that song again. Sure, we can still download the song and jam to it. I’m doing it right now actually as I type this column, but I want to hear it played again at the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

Obviously, there is a certain reason why they haven’t been inducted yet. Whatever the reason WWE has — ENOUGH ALREADY! Seriously. It’s ridiculous and actually eye-rolling that Demolition isn’t in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Their resume speaks for itself, as Ax and Smash were three-time tag team champions. Not only that, but they also held the record for the longest tag team title reign (478 days) for 30+ years, and still have the third-longest in WWE history. Their three combined reigns totaled a combined 698 days.

Demolition was a huge part of the success of the WWF machine back then, as well as a part of pop culture. From the action figures, shirts, posters, book bags, video games, and everything else their likeness was printed on- they were MONEY. Lots of it, too.

I have literally promoted hundreds of events over the past 30 years and can tell you from experience that fans absolutely LOVE them. Ax and Smash kill it for me every time I have them as guests at my events. On top of all of that, they are two of the nicest guys you will ever meet in the professional wrestling business.

I always speculate this time of year who I would like to see get inducted into the WWE HOF and they are always on the very top of my list. Same thing with King Kong Bundy. He main-evented WrestleMania 2 against Hulk Hogan in a steel cage match! How isn’t he in the HOF either?

This could lead to a huge rant about everyone else I’d like to see in it, but we can leave that for a future article. For this one, I wanted to shine the light on two men that are truly deserving of such an honor. Demolition’s names come up every year, but this year really should be the year that they are finally enshrined in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Leaving them out this long feels wrong, and makes it feel like the HOF is incomplete.

Search and destroy you…

Run and we’ll find you…

There’s no place to hide…

The Demos will get you…

Pain and destruction are our middle names…

THE DEMOLITION!

I can literally close my eyes and visualize them walking up the steps to the stage at this year’s HOF to that song. Can’t you? Do the right thing WWE. Their body of work speaks for itself.

Then. Now. Forever. Demolition.

You will be able to meet Demolition on May 6th at our ’80s Wrestling Con at The Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown, NJ. You can get your photo with them and The Powers of Pain in a “Feud of The 80s” photo op. Tons of other stars will be appearing at this event as well, including Bret “The Hitman” Hart.
