Palm Beach residents Cameron Lickle and Nick Coniglio are inviting the public to show their dedication to the troops by joining them on a 74-mile bike ride to the National Navy UDT-Seal Museum in Fort Pierce.

Slated for Saturday at 5 a.m., the group will ride out of Palm Beach via the Flagler Memorial Bridge to Flagler Drive before biking through Singer Island, Juno Beach, Jupiter and Jupiter Island, Stuart, and Hutchinson Island to the Fort Pierce-based museum.

First organized in 2022 to raise awareness for the Navy SEAL Evening of Tribute, Coniglio said the duo created the event to recognize the dedication and sacrifice of service members.

“It’s something little that we can do to recognize that these guys (Navy SEALs) are going far above and beyond the call of duty in every aspect of their lives,” said Coniglio, who also is part of the Navy SEAL Evening of Tribute Committee.

Lickle said the trip also serves as a symbolic price for admission to the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum.

“Anybody can just drive up there and enjoy, but I say the trip earns (you) the right to witness it, “ said Lickle, a 2003 U.S. Naval Academy graduate who served five years on active duty including two tours overseas in 2004 and 2007. "It's an endurance test for yourself and just doing a microcosm of what the seals do."

The ride isn't just for trained cyclists either, said Lickle who did the first journey on a rented road bike.

"I was Googling how to change your gears on a road bike before we started," Lickle said, chuckling.

To ensure the safety of the group throughout the 74-mile journey, Lickle's father, Gary Lickle, will be escorting the group on a motorcycle.

While the bike ride is free to the public, Lickle is asking participants to make a donation to the museum, if possible.
