Without pretending that there’s any real rhyme or reason to how and when Netflix chooses to license classic library titles, it seems like the streamer’s July lineup is slanted towards lighter fare; the kind of cinematic comfort mood that might help you stay chill at the height of summer.

The platform’s latest release slate is filled with breezy rom-coms like “Definitely, Maybe” and “Sleepless in Seattle,” chicken soup movies like “Pride and Prejudice” and “Fiddler on the Roof,” and — perhaps most importantly — Ben Affleck’s “The Town.” Netflix’s big Original movies this month are toplined by “The Kissing Booth 2” and Gina Prince-Bythewood’s “The Old Guard,” which stars Charlize Theron as an immortal mercenary in what promises to be the most credible new action movie that we get this summer.
