6ix9ine has reached out to his fans and followers to thank them for their support amid the rapper’s recent arrest in the Dominican Republic. On Wednesday (Oct. 18), a message was posted on the Brooklyn native’s Instagram Stories, assuring that he’s in good spirits despite his present circumstance.

“First I want to thank God that I am in good health and well cared for, and thank you to everyone who has me in prayer,” the message read, which was written in Spanish. “Thank you for your support, I love you very much. I feel so happy seeing you in full support. The same day I get out of jail, I want to give them a little gift for the neighborhood of Vega.”

The controversial rapper also promised to throw a free concert for the neighborhood as a show of his appreciation. “I’m going to give you a free concert in Vega with Romo and everything [will be] for free. Thank you for your support. I’ll give it back. I love you,” the message read, in conclusion.

Last week, 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic and charged in an alleged assault of two men. According to reports, the alleged victims, who are music producers, got into an altercation with 6ix9ine over a dispute with a female companion of the rapper.

Earlier this week, the rapper’s mugshot surfaced on social media, as well as footage of the rapper being led out of a police station while onlookers filmed the moment. Few additional details regarding 6ix9ine’s legal situation are scarce, but according to legal experts, he is believed to have a lengthy court battle ahead of him.
