666 strikes twice as winning Pick 3 numbers in Ohio, Kentucky on same day

Sunday is known as the Lord's Day in Christianity. But yesterday was a hellish one for Ohio and Kentucky lottery players.

Make note of this date. On Sunday, June 25, 2023, both the Ohio Lottery and Kentucky Lottery drew an ominous 6-6-6 (the number of the beast) for their midday Pick 3 drawings.

If your first question is "What are the odds of that!?" You are certainly not alone.

After several inner-office odds-calculation disputes, some deep online rabbit holes and calls to both Kentucky and Ohio lotteries ... AND the entire University of Cincinnati mathematics department, we still weren't 100% positive. But, hello 2023, we asked artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT what the odds were of two states drawing the same three numbers on the same day, and the answer we received there had us convinced.

"The probability of the first lottery drawing any specific three-digit combination is 1 in 1,000. The probability of the second lottery drawing the exact same three-digit combination is also 1 in 1,000," the chatbot continued. "To calculate the probability of both lotteries drawing the same three numbers on the same day, we multiply the individual probabilities together. So, the odds would be: 1/1,000 * 1/1,000 = 1 in 1,000,000."

So, there you go, we're going with that, the odds are one in a million.

Oh, and along the way, we also learned that the last time the Ohio Pick 3 drew 6-6-6 was Nov. 19, 2021. That was 584 days ago, and 1,168 draws ago, according to Marie Kilbane, Ohio Lottery public information officer.

If you were looking for lightning to strike thrice, today's numbers have already dropped. And luckily, they are less exciting. Ohio's midday Pick 3 numbers were 6-5-3 and Kentucky's were 9-1-8. The next Ohio and Kentucky Pick 3 numbers drop at 7:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. respectively.

As far as The Enquirer is aware, the Earth has continued to spin as usual.
