Nominations for the 73rd annual Emmys were announced on Tuesday, giving TV lovers a chance to add some new shows to their watchlist. From comedies and dramas to thrillers, as well as a dystopian favorite, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max are putting up stiff competition in the streaming universe. Whether you’re a Netflix subscriber looking to add additional platforms to your streaming library, or simply looking for a new series to fall in love with, check below for some of the Emmy-nominated series to watch on HBO Max, Prime Video, Disney+, and Hulu. “The Boys”
If you like superheroes, then you might want to add “The Boys” to your list of bingeworthy shows. Now in its second season, the action comedy-drama developed by Eric Kripke (“Supernatural), is set in a world where superheroes are worshipped like gods. But this isn’t your average hero story. “The Boys” looks at what happens when superheroes abuse their power and use them for evil instead of good. The show centers around the Boys, a group out to expose the truth behind “The Seven,” the premier superheroes with corporate backing from the omnipresent Vought International. “The Boys” stars Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, and Jessie T. Usher. You can stream “The Boys” on Amazon Prime.

“The Flight Attendant”
No need to leave the couch to enjoy a trip through the misadventures of Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco), a free-spirited alcoholic flight attendant whose turbulent life gets even crazier after she spends the night with one of the passengers on her flight to Bangkok. What begins as a night of boozy shenanigans transforms into a murder mystery with Cassie racing to find answers without raising the suspicions of the FBI. Luckily, she gets a little help in solving the murder from the victim himself. You can stream “The Flight Attendant” on HBO Max.
“Lovecraft Country”
Set in the 1950s, “Lovecraft Country” is a supernatural drama that tackles the horrors of racism in America. The series, based on Matt Ruff’s novel and developed by Misha Green, follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors), his friend Leticia (Jurnee Smollett) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance), as they embark on a journey to track down his missing father (played by Michael K. Williams). The story unfolds during the Jim Crow era and intertwines real-life stories (such as the murder of Emmett Till and the Tulsa Race Massacre). The search for his lost father leads Atticus on a road to self discovery that forces him to harness his inner-power (and travel through time) to learn more about his roots. “Lovecraft Country” won’t be returning for a second season, but you can stream season one on HBO Max.

“The Handmaid’s Tale”
Based on Margaret Atwood’s novels, “The Handmaid’s Tale” has built a cult following over the last four seasons. And if you’re not already watching, it’s time to get on board. The surreal series centers around a near-future totalitarian society where women are treated as property and forced to bear children. The cast of “The Handmaid’s Tale” includes Elisabeth Moss, Samira Wiley, Joseph Fiennes, Ann Dowd, Ipsita Paul, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, Amanda Brugel, along with Bradley Whitford and O-T. Fagbenle, both of whom earned Emmy nods for best supporting actor. You can stream the series on Hulu.

“I May Destroy You”
Michaela Coel stars in this emotional story about a 20-something Londoner rebuilding her life after surviving rape. Coel wrote, directed, and stars in the gripping series as “Arabella,” a budding novelist struggling to finish her second book. Arabella decides to take a break from writing and grab a drink with friends at a local bar where her drink gets spiked and she’s sexually assaulted in a bathroom. After the traumatic event, Arabella works to put the pieces of her life back together. “I May Destroy You” is streaming on HBO Max.

“The Mandalorian”
As the first live-action series in the “Star Wars” franchise “The Mandalorian” had big shoes to fill, and it’s safe to say that the show exceeded expectations. Jon Favreau created the series, which is set five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi.” The plot centers around a Mandalorian bounty hunter who is hired to retrieve Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoga) but switches gears and goes on the run instead. “The Mandalorian” became the most watched streaming series in the U.S., but if you haven’t already seen it, stream it now on Disney+.
