What would 2023 have been like without Margot Robbie?

Not only did she star in Greta Gerwig's record-breaking film "Barbie" as the leading role, but she also made pop-culture history with memorable fashion moments across red carpets.

Here's a look at some of the best outfits she wore this year, and a few that missed the mark.

Margot Robbie kicked off 2023 at the Golden Globe Awards in a glamorous pink gown.

She looked stunning in the Chanel gown, which was custom-made with Chantilly lace and silk tulle. It had a halter top, a striped pattern across its bodice, and a floor-length skirt.

People reported at the time that the gown sparkled thanks to 30,000 pieces of embroidered beads, feathers, and sequins.

She attended the"Babylon" premiere a few days later in an overwhelming frock.

Designed by Valentino, the shapeless dress was crafted from a red fabric that perfectly suited Robbie's complexion and makeup.

It also looked glamorous from behind, where it was backless and slightly form-fitting.

But when Robbie faced the cameras, she appeared to be enveloped by excess fabric, almost as if she were under a blanket.

The actor was the epitome of a Hollywood bombshell at the Australian premiere of the same movie.

Versace created her silk gown, which was baby blue and lined with red lace.

It had thin straps adorned with gold hardware, a scooped neckline, and a wrap in its skirt that formed a thigh-high slit.

She attended the Academy Awards in March, but her dress appeared too stiff.

Robbie wore a sparkling Giorgio Armani Privé design for the event. It was black with off-the-shoulder sleeves, a corset top, a straight skirt, and beaded embellishments.

The gown was chic but maybe not the best choice for the actor. Its straight skirt looked restrictive, and its striped pattern made it appear more outdated than classic.

Robbie began her "Barbie" press tour in a plaid Prada set that was feminine and fun.

The outfit, which included a wrapped miniskirt and matching bralette, looked even better when she paired it with a matching coat, black sunglasses, and a Prada bag.

It also coordinated perfectly with Ryan Gosling's pink jacket and a T-shirt that said "Greta Gerwig" in the "Barbie" font.

Her Met Gala look had potential but ultimately missed the mark.

Robbie attended the May event in a black gown designed by Chanel. A recreation of a 1993 piece from the fashion house, the dress featured a flowing skirt, a shoulder sash, and a see-through corset.

Unfortunately, the latter piece was made from a plastic material, making the gown look less glamorous than it could have been.

In June, the actor sparkled in pink at a "Barbie" party hosted in Australia.

Her vintage Versace dress was strapless with a corset top, thin straps, and a pleated miniskirt.

Though the outfit could have benefited from a few more accessories, there was no question that Robbie's dress was perfect for a party.

Robbie fully leaned into her "Barbie" role while attending the premiere in South Korea.

She stepped on the red carpet in a custom Versace look that was made to mimic an actual Barbie outfit — the 1985 Day to Night doll, to be exact.

Her outfit included a pink pencil skirt and matching blazer, a mesh scarf, two-toned pumps, a white hat with polka-dot ribbon, and a bedazzled clutch shaped like a vintage phone.

She wore her best outfit of the year at the movie's Los Angeles premiere.

Robbie was dressed to resemble the 1961 Solo in the Spotlight Barbie doll, and she nailed it.

She wore a strapless Schiaparelli gown covered in sparkles, arm-length gloves, satin pumps, and a massive diamond necklace. The actor also carried a pink scarf, just like the classic doll.

After the "Barbie" press tour ended, Robbie played her fashion a little too safe.

She attended the Variety Power of Women event in November while wearing a brown Fendi gown.

The off-the-shoulder sleeves were a nice touch, but the bodice lacked structure, and the asymmetrical panels across the waist made the garment look wrinkled. The gown's skirt was also a bit too long.
