50 years of Hip-Hop and local live music: Things to do in Seacoast

Summer is in full swing and August is here. This weekend head out to see live bands at The Stone Church or Henry Law Park in Dover, among other venues, celebrate 50 years of hip-hop at Club 3S, or view some local artist at the Art Center.

Here's a look at nine things to do this weekend and, looking ahead, The Heavy Heavy with Sara Schwab will perform at Prescott Park next Wednesday:

CLUB 3S: Hip-Hop Hooray-50 Years of Hip-Hop

What: To celebrate 50 years, DJ Skooch and guest DJ MAM are throwing down all the hottest hip-hop jams from the entire semicentennial. Ages 21-plus

‘Dover Artists: Celebrating 400 Years’ at The Art Center

What: In celebration of Dover’s 400th anniversary, The Art Center Presents a Special Exhibition Showcasing Dover Artists.

Karen Morgan at McCue’s Comedy Club

What: Karen Morgan was born and raised in Athens, Georgia but now calls Maine home. A former trial attorney, she began her professional comedy career as a finalist on Nickelodeon’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America.”

Flower Fest at Bell Farm Shops

What: Flower Fest is a Farmer’s Market-style event, designed to welcome the community to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Bell Farm while also visiting other local businesses. In addition, it will serve as a fundraiser for York Land Trust.

Little Italy Carnival in Portsmouth: No more tickets available

What: The Little Italy Carnival is part of Portsmouth's 400th anniversary celebration. All the free tickets to the limited capacity event have been claimed, according to organizers.
