50 Cent is one of the blueprints for becoming an enduring villain. Shaquille O’Neal recently dubbed himself the “50 Cent Of The NBA” and the G-Unit leader approved of the comparison.

Shaq spoke about how he navigates his feuds within the NBA on last Wednesday’s (March 13) episode of The Big Podcast. “Every now and then, I have NBA beefs with other guys, and I always tell them, ‘Don’t mess with me, I’m the 50 Cent of the NBA!'” he exclaimed. “I’m telling you right now, you mess with me, I’m coming out with a mixtape.”

He clarified that none of his feuds are serious and if someone does have a real problem with him, it wouldn’t be handled on the internet. The four-time NBA Champion likened that mindset to how the Power executive producer admits that he trolls people for fun, but is also willing to get serious if need be.

50 Cent became aware of Shaquille O’Neal’s comment and offered a response via Instagram, taking a shot at Dwight Howard in the process.

“I love Shaq, still [eyebrow raise emoji] mad yall was confused who should have the super Man logo,” he wrote, referring to Shaq and Howard’s feud over who the true Superman in the NBA was. “Now Dwight cleared all that sh*t up for you huh ? LOL.” Fif offered commentary on Howard’s recent sexual assault allegations and rumors of him being homosexual, seemingly insinuating that Shaq won the “Superman” title as a result.

Diesel infamously beefed with his former teammate the late Kobe Bryant after he joined the Miami Heat. Even after he retired and became an NBA analyst, he has still been vocal about his disdain for players and had back-and-forth exchanges. He called Rudy Gobert overrated on this same episode of The Big Podcast, continuing their ongoing tension which began in 2021; Shaq said that the French big man did not deserve his $200 million contract extension from the Utah Jazz when he was only averaging 11 points.

Shaquille O’Neal continuing to jab at Rudy Gobert parallels 50 Cent’s continuous digs at Ja Rule, Diddy, Floyd Mayweather, and Dwight Howard over the years. Most recently, Fif promoted his new book The Accomplice and poked fun at Mayweather for his alleged inability to read.

“I have no beef with anyone,” he wrote ironically, before insulting the man with whom he has had a long-running beef. “I even made sure the audiobook comes out at the same time so champ won’t feel left out.”
