50 Cent, ‘Power’ creator started fake beef over graphic nude scene

50 Cent is no stranger to beefs, just ask Ja Rule and Fat Joe. But, the rapper’s most recent feud, it turns out, was all for show — specifically his show.

In a recent interview with Refinery29, Power creator Courtney Kemp admitted that last summer’s social media argument between her and Power star and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was staged.

“It’s all bullshit,” she said. “50 and I are extremely close, so all that social media drama? It’s just for the show. People truly believed that he did not know his dick was going to be on camera. I couldn’t believe it! Do you know how long we had to prepare for that shot? Of course he knew. The whole thing just gave us so much more buzz and helped me realize how we can use social media to our advantage. 50 Cent is a brilliant marketer.”

Last August, during a season 3 episode, Jackson, who portrays Ghost’s (Omari Hardwick) former friend and current enemy Kanan, was in a sex scene where his penis was fully shown. After it aired, the rapper went on Instagram, and in a series of profanity-laced posts, which have since been deleted, claimed he never agreed to that level of exposure.

Kemp, the creator and showrunner of the hit Starz series, responded with an image of the credits displaying her as executive producer, adding the caption, “I’ll just leave that there @50cent.”

Season 4 of Power, which has already been renewed for a fifth season, premieres this summer.
