50 Cent Is Feuding With a Movie Producer and a Reality TV Star. Here Are All the Lurid Details.

The story had it all. A million dollars. Threats of violence. Made-up words like “fofty” and “Lala.” It was like a Shakespearean play. No, it was even more high-drama-like a Verdi opera adapted from a Shakespearean play. And like an Italian opus based on medieval theater, the feud between 50 Cent, Randall Emmett, and Lala Kent was complicated and confusing as hell. So here’s how it all went down.

How did the feud start?

50 Cent currently stars on the Starz network drama Power. He also serves as one of the show’s executive producers alongside Randall Emmett, who, fun fact, once worked as Mark Walhberg’s assistant and apparently inspired the Entourage character Turtle. Emmett is engaged to Lala Kent, one of the stars of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules. So that’s how everyone knows each other. Emmett also co-produced Gotti, the, uh, best film of 2018.

Six years ago, 50 apparently lent Emmett $1 million dollars, not exactly pocket change. 50 Cent learned to take his wealth seriously the hard way-he had to pay out $23 million to settle a bankruptcy case in 2016-so he was determined to see Emmett pay up. He began posting his text exchanges with Emmett to social media, alongside videos and memes mocking both the producer and his famous fiancée.

He started the public feud on Friday with a brutally low blow, trolling Kent with her very own words. Early in their relationship, Kent discussed her romance with Emmett in, um, frank terms on Vanderpump, suggesting that their relationship was fairly transactional. In one scene, the actress said that Emmett got her an audition before their first date. After, she said, “the first night we banged I got a car the next day; he was like ‘Do you want a Range Rover?’” 50 posted the video with the slut-shamey caption “10 seconds left in the 4 quarter hoe’s are Winning.”

Reality stars aren’t known to stoically take it on the chin, and Kent chimed in in the comments. “She swears she’s a thug from south side Jamaica queens, up in here watching Bravo,” Kent wrote of 50, misgendering the rapper in a completely unnecessary bit of homophobia/transphobia. “I Can’t. Coming for me ya on the gram?” Then, ever the professional, Kent remembered to add her plug. “I smell fish coming from fifty’s direction. Vanderpump Rules air Monday nights at 9/C, only by @bravotv. I got the strap.” For reference, Kent hails from Utah’s Salt Lake City.

Now what about “fofty”?

Here’s where “Fofty” comes into things. 50 next posted some truly humiliating text message exchanges between himself and Emmett. “I said I’m sorry fofty,” Emmett wrote. “I’m heading to emergency room.” He told 50 that he was worried the stress of the social media scandal was causing him to have a heart attack. “Now my ex is fucking with me after your post this is very bad for me on all levels going to er to make sure not having heart attack,” he texted. “Please fifty no more.”

50 didn’t buy the heart attack stuff, and posted memes accusing Emmett of faking his illness. He also threatened violence, warning Emmet that he’d get his “fucking head cracked in front of everybody” if he didn’t pay up by Monday.

“You took my kindness for weakness now I’m show you what I been try not to do to you dumb motherfuckers,” 50 wrote in one exchange. “I said I’m sorry fofty,” Emmett replied, “I apologized.”

Kent responded in her Instagram story, and accused 50 of using the clip of her talking about her relationship with Emmett to “diminish the validity of the MeToo movement.” 50 reposted the video with the caption, "Hey how is the Range Rover? There's no difference between Harvey Weinstein and Randel Emmett!"

What did the internet think of all this?

The internet, as the the internet will, had a blast with all of this, and 50 cent reveled in it, posting a meme reading “Monday is Coming” over a photoshopped image of himself sitting on the Iron Throne, and allegedly selling $300,000 worth of “fofty” merch in a single day. The very online Chrissy Teigen also chimed in.

How did it all end?

And then, just as the feud was becoming a social media phenomenon, it was over. Monday came, and Emmett apparently settled up. 50 deleted all his Emmett and Kent related Instagram posts after sharing a closing thought. “I got my money, so I have no problem with Randall Emmett,” he wrote, “in fact I’m wishing him and his family a very blessed day.” So that’s the whole story. This was a battle with no winners, no good guys or bad. Just messiness as far as the eye could see. Of course the internet ate it up.
