50 Cent, Lionsgate Sound, G-Unit Audio, and iHeartPodcasts have announced that season two of Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down A Drug Lord will premiere on Oct. 4.

The new season of the acclaimed podcast, hosted by Fif and investigative journalist Charlie Webster, will further shine light on the layered story of Jay and Pete Flores, former drug traffickers and twin brothers who helped put El Chapo in prison, and the aftermath of their actions.

The Chicago natives formerly dealt and trafficked upwards of $2 billion worth of cocaine nationwide before flipping on their kingpin and becoming government informants. Despite the Flores Twins being free, they still believe the consequences of them choosing to turn on El Chapo still haunt them, their entire families including their children, and respective wives “who are now in the shadow of a looming prison sentence.”

In the podcast’s new season, the men will discuss “what really happened during their years of cooperation to get El Chapo behind bars, what it was like to come face-to-face with the powerful drug lord in court, and their rocky 14-year prison journey.”

When announcing the podcast in August 2022, Craig Piligian, head of Lionsgate’s unscripted division, explained to Deadline, “We’re thrilled to partner with Curtis ‘50’ Cent Jackson and the other talented creators behind our upcoming shows. With our strong lineup out of the gate, we are well-positioned to reach the next generation of consumers.”

New episodes of Surviving El Chapo will drop weekly on Wednesdays, following its Oct. 4 premiere. Watch the visual trailer above.
