1. Attend Christmas Tree Ship Day at Wisconsin Maritime Museum

Santa knows how important and historic Manitowoc’s port is, which is why he chooses to arrive here in style via a tug boat with a load of Christmas trees!

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 2, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum has a full schedule of activities planned to accompany Santa’s arrival at 10:30 a.m.

The USS Cobia will be open for tours, and admission for the entire day is free.

2. Listen to Christmas favorites by the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble

Get into the spirit of the season with sing-along favorites from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Frozen,” “A White Christmas” and “The Polar Express” as performed by the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2, set in the beauty of the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St.

A special guest, TV host Tom Zalaski, will be narrating the show. Tickets are on sale at cccshows.org.

3. Be dazzled by the Evergleams

The historic aluminum Evergleams are on display in downtown Manitowoc! You can see Evergleams on Eighth now through Jan. 7, 2024, at various stops along Eighth Street and surrounding side streets.

Some stops of interest include the Visit Manitowoc Visitor Center at 824 S. Eighth St., the Wisconsin Maritime Museum at 75 Maritime Drive and Manitowoc Public Library at 707 Quay St. for the largest collection of all the stops.

4. Join in a holiday gathering at Manitowoc Public Library

It’s a wonderful time of year and to celebrate, the Manitowoc Public Library is hosting a gathering to sing, dance, paint and story tell about the holiday season.

Stop by the library from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 to enjoy the festivities.

Starting at 2 p.m., a string quartet from the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra will be performing.

5. Shop the Merry Makers Holiday Faire at Art on Clark

Get crafty this season with two days of holiday art classes as taught by six local artists, including quilting, painting and jewelry making.

If you prefer to be hands-off but love the sentiment of hand-crafted gifts, you can shop around while enjoying refreshments at the stores in the historic Clarkbridge Hall building, at 1402 Clark St.
