5 Unforgettable Teen Movie Moments… in Play-Doh

It’s National Play-Doh Day, everyone! The 9th annual celebration of creativity is adopting a cinematic theme this year. Since the mere mention of the soft modeling compound brings to mind childhood memories and the scent of opening a fresh canister, just imagine what would happen if that burst of nostalgia were combined with some of your favorite teen movies.

Actually, never mind. You don’t need to imagine it, because Play-Doh created it and provided Yahoo Movies with images of the results.

Sculptors studied movies like Clueless, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Grease and molded these models in their image. And, lest you have any doubt, the creations are 100 percent made of Play-Doh, and took more than 40 cans of the compound and more than 40 hours to create.

Clueless: You think you could wear Cher Horowitz’s saucy yellow suit as well as actress Alicia Silverstone did? As if!

Grease: The T-Birds and the Pink Ladies came together at Rydell High for this squishy surprise.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: Someone’s been skipping school again…

Monsters University: Mike and Sulley are ready to go through the gilded—or are they gooey?gates.

Mean Girls: If the principal got ahold of this Burn Book, we’d just roll it into a multi-colored ball.

Bonus! TV’s Saved By the Bell: It’s alright because Zack and Kelly’s lockers are fully-stocked.

Also in time for Play-Doh Day, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn appeared on the Today show, where he admitted he rewarded his actors throughout shooting the film with the playful substance. He gave out 40 canisters in total.
