Katherine Langford is in the spotlight thanks to her starring role in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, but if you wondered why you hadn’t seen her in previous projects — there’s a reason!
Langford is a newcomer and 13 Reasons Why is her first major acting gig. After training in musical theater, she appeared in a few small independent films before auditioning for 13 Reasons Why over Skype.
It’s hard to believe she isn’t a veteran, since she is so poised and polished in the drama based on the novel by Jay Asher. And as the deceased Hannah Baker, Langford has to carry a lot of the show’s most emotional scenes, including ones that depict sexual assault and bullying.
Oh, and that musical theater background? That means Langford’s got singing and dancing chops. She even shows off her vocal abilities on YouTube.
