Hanukkah is just around the corner!

While many know Adam Sandler's iconic Saturday Night Live bit turned instant classic, there are a few other songs that touch on the Jewish festival of lights that begins this year on Dec. 7 at sundown.

From the Sandman original to Jack Black's new spin on a classic children's song, read on to learn more about these five Hanukkah tunes.

Adam Sandler's 'The Chanukah Song'

Perhaps the most iconic of the modern Hanukkah songs, Adam Sandler's hilarious song first debuted on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s and lists out the most famous Jewish celebrities. More than 15 years after the song was first introduced, Haim updated the song in 2021, adding a whole new cast of characters to the lyrics including Timothée Chalamet, Maya Rudolph and Eugene and Dan Levy.

After the band shared a video singing the remix online, Sandler himself gave it the seal of approval by reposting and writing, "Love you ladies! You are three bad--- jews! See you on tour!"

'Hanukkah Blessings' by Barenaked Ladies

Forget "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel" — "Hanukkah Blessings" by the Barenaked Ladies, which appears on the Barenaked for the Holidays album, is one of the best Hanukkah songs of all time. It has everything that makes a holiday song great: It's catchy but somehow still emotional! It's sweet and danceable! Give it a listen on its own — or as part of Spotify's Hanukkah playlist.

For the 2019 compilation album titled Hanukkah+ , Jack Black offered his take on this classic children's song. The album features 12 songs performed by various artists including The Flaming Lips and HAIM.

'Puppy for Hanukkah' by Daveed Diggs

If this song by Hamilton star Daveed Diggs doesn't make you smile so big that your cheeks hurt, you need to check your pulse. It's catchy and sweet, and it gives everyone what they "want-akkuh."

'Feast of Lights' by They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants' "Feast of Lights" was featured on the band's 2001 holiday project called Holidayland. The song appears to be a plea to a loved one, asking that though their relationship might be fraught, that they try and enjoy the holiday together.

"We never get together at all/Until the last day of Hanukkah/I got you a harmonica/ And a bag of chocolate coins," goes the song, referring to candy that is common during Hanukkah celebrations. "The only thing we have is fights/ But there's got to be a change tonight/ Please be nice on this feast of lights."
