'The Goldbergs' Sneak Peek: Barry Channels His Inner Kevin Bacon
Back in the ‘80s, movie studios cranked out a steady supply of dance-themed movies. We’re talking Footloose, Flashdance, Fame, and yeah, even Stayin’ Alive — just to name a few. So, it was only matter of time before The Goldbergs’s annual movie-themed episode would feature a dance movie, right?
For this year’s movie tribute, Adam F. Goldberg and his team are giving us “The Dirty Dancing Dance,” a tribute to the iconic 1987 Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey flick, Dirty Dancing, and as this clip shows, no one puts Barry (Troy Gentile) in a corner.

While older sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) is getting all the attention as she tries to plan a Dirty Dancing-themed dance at school, it sounds like things don’t go so well for her. So, leave it to Barry to show his big sis how he unleashes his angry rage by doing “The Angry Dance,” à la Kevin Bacon in Footloose. Sure, Barry may have his movies a little bit mixed up, and he trades Ren McCormack’s warehouse for the school gym, but who can stay angry after a dance scene like this?
“The Dirty Dancing Dance” episode of The Goldbergs airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
