35 North reopens in Farragut with a new menu for this 'destination' restaurant

35 North has reopened its doors with a new owner and a new menu.

The Farragut restaurant and bar at 11321 Kingston Pike is back after new owner Vinit Sharma purchased it in February. The restaurant had quietly closed in December 2022.

Sharma is also the co-owner of Iron Works Grille in Tellico Plains.

At 35 North, the exterior and interior of the restaurant stayed pretty similar. The most noticeable difference is the removal of the sushi bar, which has been turned into a lounge area. There's also a new private dining room with multiple TVs.

"The way I see it, it will be a destination place for everyone around," Sharma told Knox News. "You can't beat the location. You can't beat the ambience. And the other two parts — service and food — that's where my entire team is dedicated to."

What's on the new 35 North menu?

The revamped kitchen and updated menu are the largest changes.

"I don't want to jinx it, but it's been doing really, really well. A lot of rave reviews about the food. The staff is second to none," head chef Matt Carter said.

Appetizers, wings, salads, burgers, sandwiches and entrees are on the main menu; the priciest item is the baked grouper at $21. The burgers and sandwiches are in the $12 to $16 range.

There's now a dedicated vegetarian menu. Appetizers include a hummus plate, nachos and burrata bruschetta, and the price range is $8 to $12. The entrees include the Impossible Burger and the 35 Veggie Burger with a house-made veggie patty using chickpeas. There's also avocado tacos, pasta and a wrap, with the price range being $11 to $15.

"The food becomes essential for this kind of establishment. So for that, we got a good kitchen, a good team in the kitchen, then worked out our menu and all that," Sharma said.

How 35 North is planning for the future

35 North will host events and weekly deals like happy hour after it gets reestablished in the area. Sharma said karaoke, trivia and bingo nights are in the works, along with live music.

General manager Braden White said the restaurant will make adjustments based on customer feedback, including menu or hour of operations.

Sharma wants it to be a place for every occasion: birthdays, business lunches, watch parties, family dinners and more. He hopes that the citizens of Farragut will make it a go-to spot for lunch, dinner and drinks.

35 North is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, it's open until midnight.
