321 Flavor Bites: Aliens are coming to Cocoa Beach; it's Urban Prime time in Viera

This week's 321 Flavor Bites are more of a snack than a meal. I'm running behind after a few days in Fredericksburg, Texas.

If you've never been, I highly recommend it. It's a little German town in the Texas Hill Country about an hour and a half out of Austin. The town is adorable, and it's surrounded by wineries. I'm still dreaming about the Jäger Schnitzel I had at Otto's German Bistro.

Meanwhile, back in Brevard ...

The aliens are coming! The aliens are coming!

Big changes are coming to Area 142 in Cocoa Beach. I got the chance to sit down recently with the new owners of the restaurant-bar-entertainment venue in the heart of downtown, and the plans are super cool.

Think holograms aliens, flying saucers and rocket ships. Bar None Creations, an Orlando-based fabrication company that creates themed bars and experiences, will be working its magic there in the next few months, so keep an eye out for otherworldly happenings.

In the meantime, read my story here.

It's Urban Prime time

The spacious patio at Urban Prime Restaurant and Market in Viera holds about 150 guests.

Urban Prime opened last week to a lot of fanfare. The gourmet grocery and upscale market in Viera is the realization of a dream for chef Ercan Ekinci.

It's a beautiful place with a elegant dining room, a classy bar and lots of outdoor dining space. The grocery includes an impressive wine selection, cheeses from around the world, a bakery, a deli, a butcher shop, a seafood counter and a sushi bar.

The restaurant still is in its soft-opening stages as the staff learns the new building with it's new equipment and systems, but this is sure to blossom into a go-to spot for dining and shopping in Central Brevard.

Get the biscuits, baby

The chicken biscuit at Oh Biscuit in Eau Gallie was absolutely grand too, with perfectly fried bird and slightly crusted, fluffily light bread.

We've been hearing mixed reviews about Eau Gallie favorite Oh Biscuit since new owners took over a couple of months ago.

Well, restaurant critic Lyn Dowling is here to put our minds at ease. The popular lunch and breakfast spot is still great, according to her review, and it's still got fabulous biscuits. But don't take our word for it. Check them out yourself. And don't forget to get a cinnamon roll.

Good food, great cause

Visit Chili's in Viera between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Oct. 25, and The Arc of Space Coast will get 15% of your total ticket when you mention the Arc while ordering.

You get lunch or dinner, and The Arc gets the benefit. Win-win.

Chili's is at 6550 Colonade Ave., Viera.
