This Wednesday night, music fans can travel the world of jazz with Yvette Norwood-Tiger and her ensemble as part of the City of West Palm Beach’s “Soul in the City Jazz Experience” summer music series on the West Palm Beach waterfront. Celebrate Obon at Morikami

Get ready — the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens invites you to celebrate Obon (Japanese Buddhist custom of honoring the spirits of their ancestors) this weekend! Take a walk through the peaceful gardens, fill out paper slips in memory of your lost loved ones, view the “Witness to Wartime” exhibition on display, and grab lunch at the Cornell Café. As a special treat for those who visit on Saturday, you can also take in a taiko drumming performance!

Obon Weekend: Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13. Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $9 for children 6-17, and free for members and children 5 and under. Taiko drum performances will occur only on Saturday and will incur an additional cost of $10 per person (see website for performance times).
