Commissioned by the City of West Palm Beach, “The Commons” is an art installation presenting artist Bridget Vizoso’s “Symphony of Innocents,” a series of 27 double-sided horizontal sections currently decorating the canopies of the ficus trees in Phipps Park. Head to Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens this Friday night to attend “The Dance of the Brush,” which brings together the work of Japanese calligraphy master Kihachiro Nishiura and the powerful music of Fushu Daiko. Nishiura will create large-scale works of traditional calligraphy live on stage during the performance, and at the end, there will be a silent auction of the created pieces. Who could say no to that?

“The Dance of the Brush”: 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Admission is $30 ($25 for Morikami Museum members).
