The final weekend of May has arrived, and it’s also the long Memorial Day holiday. That means you may have even more time to watch movies on Hulu if you don’t have plans with friends and family. And while new titles like Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga may lure you into theaters, Hulu has a very strong selection of films that can keep you entertained at home.

This week’s selections for the three Hulu movies that you need to stream this weekend include a biopic about a giant in the automotive industry, an underrated coming-of-age comedy, and a superhero flick from director Guillermo del Toro.

Ferrari (2023)

Despite some overlapping subject matter between James Mangold’s Ford v Ferrari and Michael Mann’s Ferrari, the two movies are largely self-contained and tonally different from one another. Mann’s film is a biopic of Enzo Ferrari, with Adam Driver almost unrecognizable in the title role. The movie begins with Ferrari in a downward spiral following the death of his son. Ferrari’s business is failing, and his mistress, Lina Lardi (Shailene Woodley), is pressuring him to legitimize their son together, Piero Lardi (Giuseppe Festinese).

To save his legacy, Ferrari needs the help of his wife, Laura Ferrari (Penélope Cruz). But that also involves giving Laura leverage that she can use to destroy both Ferrari and his company. And it’s only a matter of time before Laura discovers that Ferrari has been cheating on her with Lina.

Good Boys (2019)

Universal Pictures

Don’t let these kids fool you into thinking Good Boys is some family-friendly flick. This is an R-rated comedy that just happens to center on three 12-year-old boys: Max (Jacob Tremblay), Lucas (Keith L. Williams), and Thor (Brady Noon). These three sixth-graders are just discovering girls, but also cognizant of the fact that they don’t have any experience to draw upon when courting them.

After “borrowing” the drone of Max’s father to spy on girls and learn how to kiss, the boys find themselves in comical misadventures that threaten to tear apart their friendship.

Hellboy (2004)

Ron Perlman cocks his gun in Hellboy (2004), directed by Guillermo del Toro.
Columbia Pictures

“In the absence of light, darkness prevails.” That’s an old Latin expression, and also one of the taglines used to promote Hellboy, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Screenwriter and director Guillermo del Toro was so passionate about Mike Mignola’s signature comic book character that he pushed this project for years before it finally happened. Ron Perlman stars as Hellboy, a demon who was born in Hell, yet raised on Earth by Professor Trevor “Broom” Bruttenholm (John Hurt) to be a force for good as a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

Hellboy is in love with his pyrokinetic colleague, Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), and he feels threatened when she starts getting closer to a new BPRD agent, John Myers (Rupert Evans). Meanwhile, Grigori Rasputin (Karel Roden) plans to make Hellboy fulfill his destiny to bring about the end of the world, and he’ll use Hellboy’s love for Liz to make him do it.
