3 Doors Down coming to Virginia Beach next month

Rock band 3 Doors Down is set to play in Virginia Beach next month as part of the anniversary tour celebrating its second album, “Away From The Sun,” originally released over two decades ago.

Tickets are already on sale for the Aug. 25 show at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach.

In 2000, 3 Doors Down scored its first mainstream success with the hit single “Kryptonite” that reached No. 3 on the Billboard Top 100.

But the band was vaulted into a whole new category of success with its 2002 album release of “Away From The Sun” which reached No. 5 and Billboard Hot 100 and produced four singles: “When I’m Gone,” “The Road I’m On,” “Here Without You” and its title track.

The song “When I’m Gone,” spent seventeen weeks on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

In the U.S., the “Away From The Sun” album was certified 6-times platinum, and this year, 3 Doors Down plans to play all of the album’s songs as well as some of their other greatest hits as part of the anniversary tour.

“’Away From The Sun’ has always been a personal favorite of mine because of how much it resonated with our country’s service members,” stated Brad Arnold, 3 Doors Down lead singer, in a press release. “We are so blessed to be able to celebrate these significant milestones, and the show we are planning will be next level this summer.”

The band Candlebox will also play at every show.
