Sex and the City and its follow-up series, And Just Like That..., are well-known for their celebrity guest stars. Everyone from Bradley Cooper and Alanis Morissette to Tony Danza and Gloria Steinem have appeared in this TV world.

However, a few guest stars have made repeat appearances, and not as the same character. In fact (or should I say, and just like that?), it happened this week. Carrie's latest love interest on And Just Like That... is George, played by Peter Hermann.

Peter Hermann, who you might recognize from Younger, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order: SVU, also happens to be married to his SVU costar, Mariska Hargitay.

They meet after Carrie stops in a bike lane and George, who was biking, nearly crashes into her. Their meet-cute included a stop at an urgent care clinic, where George learns the tumble resulted in a broken arm. (Only in New York!)

He actually appeared in the original series over 20 years ago as an entirely different character. He's far from the only actor to pull double duty on the show. Here are a few actors who've played multiple characters in the SATC/AJLT universe:

1.Long before he was George with the broken arm, Peter was David, the Yale grad.

In 2003, he appeared in Season 6, Episode 6 as a potential suitor for Charlotte (Kristin Davis). However, they never really clicked, as Charlotte realized she was still in love with Harry (Evan Handler).

That's all we get from Peter, just the one scene with Charlotte. It seems his luck on the show is limited, as Carrie quickly broke up with George by the end of this week's episode.

2.If William Abadie — who played Seema Patel's (Sarita Choudhury) now-former love interest Zed in AJT — looked familiar, it's because he once played a bit character in the original series.

William can also be seen in Emily in Paris, whose creator Darren Star also originated Sex and the City.

In Season 6, Episode 5, William played Tony, a Prada sales rep who Carrie introduced to her boyfriend, Jack Berger (Ron Livingston).

Though Tony only lasted one episode in Sex and the City, he stuck around much longer in And Just Like That... as Zed, appearing in both the first and second seasons.

3.Finally, and perhaps the most notable actor to appear as multiple characters in the franchise, there's Justin Theroux. Both of his appearances occurred in the original series, with his first happening nearly 25 years ago.

In Season 1, Episode 7, Justin plays Jared, a successful novelist named one of New York Magazine's 30 coolest New Yorkers under 30. He's introduced as a friend of Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), but quickly gets to wooing Carrie.

By the end of the episode, Carrie ditches Jared for Mr. Big (Chris Noth).

Justin returns again in Season 2, Episode 15, as another writer pursuing Carrie: Vaughn Wysel. At first, things go well. They like each other, Vaughn's family likes Carries, and Carrie likes Vaughn's family.

However, things stall after Vaughn struggles to perform in the bedroom, leaving Carrie breaking up with Vaughn and his family.

In 2019, Justin explained his double casting to Entertainment Weekly, saying

That's it, for now at least. So tell us: Of these actors who've played multiple characters, which one is your favorite?
