Who owns The Twisted Lime?

It's the third Treasure Coast restaurant created by Gary Sofen, who opened 2nd Street Bistro in downtown Fort Pierce in 2012 and Island Beach Bar & Restaurant in Ocean Village on South Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce in 2021. (He also opened Lake Oconee Bistro in Eatonton, Georgia, in 2020.)

The Twisted Lime is run by managing partner Kevin Foster, and the chef is Ryan Fitton, who previously worked at Island Beach Bar & Restaurant.

The Twisted Lime is like 2nd Street Bistro with an outdoor bar, live music, a private party room and brunch on weekends, but the food and the concept are different. Plus, it has a tasting room with a variety of tequila and whiskey, as well as an extensive list of red and white wine.

  • Buffalo cauliflower: Crispy cauliflower tossed in buffalo sauce, topped with fresh scallions, served with ranch or blue cheese ($10)

  • Fried green tomatoes: Fresh sliced green tomatoes deep fried and topped with chipotle ranch and cotija cheese ($10)

  • Empanadas: Handmade empanadas filled with ground beef, topped with cotija cheese, then drizzled with jalapeno cilantro aioli ($12)

  • Firecracker shrimp: Tempura-style fried shrimp tossed in homemade firecracker sauce with wasabi aioli and sesame seeds ($14)

  • Korean ribs: Lightly fried baby back ribs tossed in a Korean pepper sauce with toasted sesame seeds and fresh scallions ($16)

  • Tuna nachos: Lightly fried wonton chips, tipped with marinated diced raw sushi-grade tuna, sesame seeds, seaweed salad, shredded carrots and edamame, then drizzled with wasabi aioli and sriracha ($17)

  • Ropa vieja: Seasoned Cuban-style shredded beef in a tomato sauce with onions, bell peppers and olives, served atop white rice and fried plantains ($23)

  • Asian garlic shrimp: Sauteed shrimp in a garlic sauce with onions, bell peppers, ginger and scallions, served atop Soba noodles ($24)

  • Pollo guisado: Braised chicken, carrots and olives in a tomato broth, served atop white rice and fried plantains ($21)

  • Skirt steak chimichurri: Tender cut skirt steak char-grilled and topped with a chimichurri sauce, served with rice, beans and fried plantains ($26)

  • Bowls: Tex Mex, Deep South, Smoky Mountain pork, steak and egg, Twisted bowl ($14-$26)

  • Smash burgers & sandwiches: Boring burger, cowboy BLT, Caroline pork sandwich, whiskey burger, Southern chicken sandwich; served with one side ($12-$16; add cheese for $2)

  • Flatbreads: Plain Jane, hot chicken, Memphis barbecue, Hawaiian Pacific ($12-$14)

  • Classic breakfast: Two eggs any style, bacon, potatoes and toast ($11)

  • Breakfast tacos: Scrambled eggs, bacon, Mexican cheese blend, fresh jalapenos and diced tomatoes in two flour tortillas ($12)

  • Southwest omelet: Three eggs, diced tomato, onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper and cheddar cheese, served with potatoes ($13)

  • Eggs benedict: Two English muffins topped with arugula, roasted tomato, ham, pan-fried egg and hollandaise sauce, served with potatoes ($14)

  • Sweet potato chorizo hash skillet: Two eggs over sweet potatoes, chorizo, sauteed onions and peppers, roasted corn, cilantro, hollandaise and sriracha ($15)

  • Steak and egg skillet: Two eggs over potatoes, steak and sauteed onions and peppers, drizzled with Alabama white sauce ($16)
