27-Year-Old Who Lives In Camper In Parents’ Yard Says He Thinks Jail Is ‘Better’

“My mom’s not there right now for me as a mother. She thinks I’m just this guy lying around mooching off of her,” says 27-year-old JJ who, after being kicked out of his parents’ house, lives in a camper in their back yard. “My mom tells me that she is ashamed of me. My mom doesn’t care about me.”

JJ, who doesn’t have a job and says that he doesn’t “really have the motivation to even really want work right now,” admits that he has stolen money from his parents and even a $10,000 ring. The young man also complains about the camper his mom bought for him to live in.

“I’ve done a little bit of jail time, and it’s almost like being in jail being in this camper. Jail is actually even better, at least you get three meals a day,” JJ says.

JJ claims his mother is disrespectful and should do more to motivate him, rather than constantly criticize him. “I told my mom I’m depressed, and she told me to just suck it up. That’s all she says to me, ‘Suck it up,’” JJ claims.

On Monday’s episode of Dr. Phil, hear from JJ’s mom and why she says she still provides for her son. And, hear why his dad calls his mom the “ultimate enabler.” When Dr. Phil offers this family a chance for help, will they all agree to follow his rules? Check here to see where you can watch.
