23 Jump Street-Men In Black Crossover Moving Forward With James Bobin

Sony Pictures is reportedly moving forward with its 23 Jump Street-Men in Black crossover movie.

According to Variety, James Bobin is in early talks to direct the crossover. It film still hasn’t been officially greenlit, but is tentatively planning to begin production in June.

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will both return to reprise their roles from 21 and 22 Jump Street, Schmidt and Jenko respectively. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will definitely not be putting on their black suits for the film, according to Sony executives and Variety’s sources. The studio will instead cast younger actors in their place, with the hope that they can breathe fresh life into the Men in Black franchise.

While the idea for the crossover first came to light during the 2014 hacking of Sony Pictures, details on the film’s plot remain udner lock and key.

Bobbins worked as a director and producer on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, and directed The Muppets.
