21 Scrapped Marvel Cinematic Universe Plot Lines That Would've Been Totally Wild If They'd Actually Happened

1.First, in Avengers: Endgame, there was originally going to be a storyline where Thanos went back and killed the Avengers in 2014, and then in 2023 he kept Captain America's severed head as a prize.

2.Avengers: Age of Ultron nearly featured Pietro surviving Ultron's attack in Sokovia and becoming an Avenger alongside Wanda — in fact, Aaron Taylor-Johnson filmed two alternate scenes.

3.The Black Widow post-credits scene, which features Yelena whistling at Natasha's grave, almost included us hearing a whistle back.

4.In WandaVision, there was originally going to be an episode about Wanda's work-life balance in the style of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

5.Also, the WandaVision series finale was going to include a storyline where Darcy, Monica, Billy, and Tommy team up in Agatha's basement to fight Señor Scratchy, who turned into a demon.

6.In Thor: Ragnarok, there was originally going to be a quick scene where we see a woman leaving Valkyrie's bedroom, thus confirming her bisexuality on screen.

7.The writers toyed with a scene where after Hulk uses the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame, he would've appeared in the Soulworld and Bruce Banner and Hulk would've talked face-to-face.

8.In Avengers: Endgame, Natasha almost had a storyline that focused on her running an organization in DC that was in charge of taking care of children who were orphaned after The Blip.

9.The Spider-Man: Far From Home writers played with the idea of Peter revealing his own identity during the final battle in order to defeat Mysterio, instead of being surprised when Mysterio did it in the post-credits scene.

10.Black Panther was supposed to feature a scene where Okoye and W'Kabi talk about their plan to have children and the future of Wakanda.

11.Avengers: Endgame almost featured a post-credits scene where Wanda finds Vision's body in a morgue after she returns from being dusted by Thanos. Of course, a similar moment happens in WandaVision.

12.During the early drafts of the Avengers: Endgame script, there was a storyline that involved Wanda, who was actually going to survive Thanos's snap, going on a road trip with Rocket to find an Infinity Stone.

13.Avengers: Age of Ultron nearly featured the introduction of Captain Marvel during the final scene at the Avengers compound.

14.There was a version of Avengers: Infinity War that actually involved Spider-Man and Sam Wilson swapping places — basically, Spider-Man didn't go to space, but Sam did.

15.During the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale, there was going to be a reference to Avengers: Infinity War that would've explained that these characters weren't affected by Thanos's snap because they were on a different timeline.

16.Originally, Avengers: Endgame included a scene with Tony visiting the Soulworld after snapping away Thanos, and he would've had a conversation with an older version of Morgan, who was played by Katherine Langford.

17.Doctor Strange was going to include a flashback scene where we saw Donna, Stephen's sister, dying when they were younger.

18.The Avengers nearly had a scene where Steve and Peggy, in present day, discuss him leaving and missing their dance at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger.

19.In Thor: Ragnarok, Hela was supposed to be the one to kill Odin, instead of us seeing him die peacefully surrounded by Thor and Loki.

20.An original idea for Avengers: Infinity War included Doctor Strange sending Thanos through a mindscape — like the Ancient One did to Doctor Strange — and he would've had to face the Living Tribunal.

21.And finally, the "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" montage at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy almost featured a moment with Grandpa Quill looking up at the stars.
