Two dozen-plus performers -- including the event's hosts Dierks Bentley, Elle King and Lainey Wilson -- have been named for ABC and the Country Music Association's forthcoming, three-hour "CMA Fest" prime-time special debuting July 19 at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on ABC and available the next day on Hulu.
The special was recorded during each night's evening Nissan Stadium performances at Lower Broadway's recently completed 50th CMA festival.
As is tradition with the nearly two-decade-old TV event, eight duets featuring an all-star multi-genre collection of artists including Leon Bridges, Luke Combs, Vince Gill, HARDY, Cody Johnson, King, Miranda Lambert, Avril Lavigne, Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina, Carly Pearce, Tanya Tucker and Wilson will be featured.
Four decades of country's No. 1 hits, including CMA Pinnacle Award honorees Alabama's "Mountain Music" and Reba McEntire's "Whoever's In New England," plus King and Lambert's "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)," Jelly Roll's "I Need A Favor," plus HARDY and Wilson's "wait in the truck" are among the crowd favorite performances highlighted.
"This show will make you so excited you're gonna want to run into a brick wall. There are all different types of people in the world now who are attracted to country music and on the special, they're going to see all of our genre's various kinds of stars singing about everything in every way imaginable. More than ever, country music is exciting and for everyone," said the CMA's reigning best new artist and female vocalist of the year, Wilson, to The Tennessean.
CMA Fest's mid-July spectacle is not limited to the airing of an ABC special.
July 18 marks the broadcast debut of "CMA Fest: 50 Years of Fan Fair," a CMA-produced documentary celebrating the golden anniversary of the largest and longest-running country music festival.
Also, CMA Fest 2024's tickets will officially go on sale on July 18. The 51st CMA festival spectacular is scheduled for Nashville from Jule 6-9, 2024.
Tickets will be available for purchase through Ticketmaster at 10:00 a.m. CT at CMAfest.com. CMA Country Connection email subscribers will gain early presale access on July 14 at 10:00 a.m. CT.
