20th Century Fox TV Hires Joshua Sussman As SVP Business Affairs

Electus’ head of business and legal affairs Joshua Sussman has joined 20th Century Fox TV as SVP, Business Affairs. In this role, Sussman will negotiate and oversee network license and above-the-line talent deals for the development, production and distribution of prime time network television series. He will report to Howard Kurtzman, the studio’s President of Business Operations.

“Josh is a smart and savvy negotiator who is enormously respected within the industry, and for good reason,” commented Kurtzman. “He also brings a skillset and a background that will complement those of our current team. The business continues to evolve, both competitively and technologically, and Josh will be helpful to us as we look to craft the most strategic deals possible.”

Sussman’s appointment helps fill a void left by the departure of several senior 20th TV business affairs executive who recently took the company’s voluntary buyout offer, including SVPs Neal Baseman and Pam Baron and VP business affairs Beth Hoffman.

Sussman most recently served As EVP, Business Affairs and General Counsel for Electus, overseeing the business and legal affairs for the multimedia studio and production company and its divisions, including Electus International, Electus Content Marketing, Electus’ affiliate production companies, and Electus Digital.

Prior to Electus, Sussman was VP, GC of Programming at IAC/InterActiveCorp, overseeing business and legal Affairs for IAC’s programming businesses (which included Notional, a television production company, CollegeHumor Media, and The Daily Beast among others). He began his career as an associate at the law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.
