The ceremony will recognize productions which opened in the 2023-2024 Off-Broadway season, which runs April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024. Nominations for the Lortel Awards will be announced on Thursday, April 4, with a special nominees breakfast soon after on April 17.

In addition to these key dates, the Lortel Awards also revealed the 2024 recipients of their three special awards.

Ruben Santiago-Hudson will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Santiago-Hudson is a past Tony winner for his featured role in “Seven Guitars.” He received additional Tony nominations for directing the Broadway revival of “Jitney” and for his solo performance in “Lackawanna Blues” (which he also wrote and directed). The film adaptation of “Lackawanna Blues” earned him nominations from the Emmys, Golden Globes, and WGA. Santiago-Hudson won a Lortel Award in 2013 for directing “The Piano Lesson.”
