2024 Gold Derby Music Awards winners: Clean sweep for Taylor Swift

It was a clean sweep for Taylor Swift at the 2024 Gold Derby Music Awards. She came into our fourth annual event with nine nominations and walked away with nine victories including Artist of the Year for the fourth year in a row. Watch the announcement video above for winners in all categories, and scroll down for the complete list.

In the history of the GDMAs thus far, Swift is the only artist who has won Artist of the Year. She’s also the only artist who has won Record of the Year and Song of the Year (for “Cardigan,” “Willow,” “All Too Well” and now “Anti-Hero”). But her Album of the Year victory for “Midnights” is only her second in that race. She previously won in 2021 for “Folklore,” but Lana Del Rey claimed that honor in 2022 for “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” and Beyonce prevailed in 2023 for “Renaissance.”

More from GoldDerby

Swift’s other victories included her third for Best Music Video (“Anti-Hero”), her third for Best Pop Artist, her second for Best Pop Album (“Midnights”), her second for Best Pop Song (“Anti-Hero”) and her second for Best Country Album (“Speak Now [Taylor’s Version]”). Altogether, Swift has won 28 GDMAs. That’s more than any other artist in our relatively short history. In fact, no other artist is even in double digits.

This year’s next biggest winner was actually Swift’s closest competition in the top categories: Del Rey. In the end Swift edged her out for the general field awards, but Del Rey nevertheless swept the three rock/alternative categories in addition to claiming Best Collaboration for “Candy Necklace” featuring Jon Batiste, which marks the first GDMA win for Batiste. Also sweeping her genre was SZA, who claimed all three R&B awards. And claiming two genre awards apiece were Doja Cat and Shakira.

What do you think of this year’s winners? Can any fandom ever match the dedication of Swifties?
