2023 VMA presenters: Charli D’Amelio, Jared Leto, Ice Spice and more

MTV has announced the first round of presenters who will take the stage at the 2023 Video Music Awards, taking place on Tuesday, September 12. Pop star Bebe Rexha; social media figures Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio; R&B singer Coco Jones; model and actress Emily Ratajkowski; rappers French Montana, GloRilla and Ice Spice; Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto; actress Madelyn Cline; British singer Rita Ora; and singer-actress Sabrina Carpenter will be present at the 40th annual event.

In addition, the network announced a few more performers who will appear at the VMAs: Kaliii, Renee Rapp and The Warning will perform on the Extended Play Stage. There will also be a 90-minute VMAs pre-show where NLE Choppa and the aforementioned Sabrina Carpenter will perform. That pre-show will be hosted by Moon Person winner Saweetie along with Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney.

SEESean ‘Diddy’ Combs will receive Global Icon Award at 2023 VMAs

These additions follow the announcements that South American trailblazer Shakira will be receiving the honorary Video Vanguard Award and that rap pioneer Sean “Diddy” Combs will get the Global Icon Award. Both will be performing during the main telecast as will Anitta, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne, Maneskin, Stray Kids and Tomorrow X Together.

But who will win at these awards? Taylor Swift is the top nominee with 11 bids including Video of the Year (“Anti-Hero”), Album of the Year (“Midnights”) and Artist of the Year. SZA follows with eight bids. Blackpink, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo are next in line with six apiece. Kim Petras and Sam Smith have five. And Beyoncé, Diddy, Drake, Ice Spice, Karol G, Metro Boomin, Shakira and Tomorrow X Together have four.
