The SAG Awards nominating committee spread the wealth, with “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” being the only two movies to merit five nominations (ensemble plus four individual stars). Over on the TV side, “Ozark” reaped four bids for its final season.

Charlie Bright: I think so.

Daniel Montgomery: Was “Network” the last movie to win 3 acting Oscars? That’s within reach for “EEAAO”

Rob Licuria: EEAAO

:broom:
:broom:

Charlie Bright: Mr. Wahlberg will be distributing communion wafers at the exits of the theater.

Daniel Montgomery: This was one of the best awards shows I’ve seen in ages. Clips in all categories, absolutely no one played off, great speeches, wonderful tributes, a few F-bombs. I hope the SAG Awards never go back to regular TV

Marcus James Dixon: Turning Best Ensemble into a James Hong tribute is one of the best things I’ve ever seen at an awards show.

Daniel Montgomery: I love how the cast gave James Hong this showcase. What a wonderful gesture

Ray Richmond: 94, and his hair is.still black! #Miracle

What a lovely moment.

Rob Licuria: James Hong. I’m crying.

Daniel Montgomery: It’s official, “EEAAO” has more SAG Awards than any other movie in history. Too bad for “Women Are Talking,” though

FILM ENSEMBLE: ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’

Marcus James Dixon: “Women Are Talking”? You had one job to do, Mark Wahlberg!

Ray Richmond: I’m so happy for Brendan.

Tony Ruiz: I actually think that all of the acting races are excited. Exciting. For the first time in years

Ray Richmond: I had a feeling it was Brendan

Marcus James Dixon: After BAFTA I switched to Cate and Austin for SAG and Oscars. Now I’m gonna switch back to Michelle and Brendan for the Oscar. Wild season!

Rob Licuria: We have actual competitive races in three of the four acting categories! CHAOOOOSSSS

Denton Davidson: BAFTA and SAG agree on nothing!

Daniel Montgomery: Wow, Best Actor and Best Actress both split between BAFTA and SAG! I’m gonna have to do some research as to how this usually goes at the Oscars when that happens LOL

Charlie Bright: We’ve gotten quite the shake ups tonight! What’s that you said last night about wanting CHAOS, Rob???

Ray Richmond: YES!!!!!

FILM ACTOR: Brendan Fraser (‘The Whale’)

Marcus: I hope you’re right!

Rob Licuria: Hear that sound? …that’s everyone on social media saying “oh Michelle Yeoh is winning the Oscar now”!

Ray Richmond: Yes, says Daniel.

Charlie Bright: If this wins Cast, does this make EEAAO the most winning film of all time at SAG?

Ray Richmond: Yes that’s her stuffing.
“FUCK !” she said.

Charlie Bright: Is the package stuffing on her dressing hitting the microphone?

Ray Richmond: This changes the Oscar actress picture a tad.

Daniel Montgomery: No movie has ever won more than 3 SAG Awards, and it looks like “EEAAO” is going 4-for-4

Ray Richmond: Toldja!

FILM ACTRESS: Michelle Yeoh (‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’)

Charlie Bright: Forgot about Gregory Itzin passing away.

In Memoriam

Ray Richmond: Loved that “UNION FOREVER!” shout from F. Murray Abraham.

Rob Licuria: Auguri!!!

:it:
:it:

David Buchanan: They have always loved awarding huge casts!

TV DRAMA ENSEMBLE: ‘The White Lotus: Sicily’

Charlie Bright: WL

Ray Richmond: Severance or White Lotus?

He’s a very good guy, loved by his fellow performers, even if his winning is getting old. Loved interviewing him.

Charlie Bright: At least he won’t be an obstacle for Bob at the Emmys. There are plenty of other people to do that.

Tony Ruiz: Bateman??? Really???

Marcus James Dixon: One of the rare surprises I got right. Well done, Jason!

Ray Richmond: Yes they do.

Daniel Montgomery: Whew, I lucked out picking Bateman for the, what is this, three-peat? four-peat?

Rob Licuria: They love Jason!

TV DRAMA ACTOR: Jason Bateman (‘Ozark’)

Ray Richmond: I think it may be Jeff.

Charlie Bright: Really nervous about Jason Bateman taking this category again

Daniel Montgomery: No one played off, clips in all categories. This is some kind of awards show nirvana

Ray Richmond: I love that the orchestra isn’t playing anyone off. Not even Jennifer.

Jaclyn Ben-Porat: my fave rollercoasters are her acceptance speeches

Daniel Montgomery: Austin Butler keeps assisting people to the stage. I’m like, dude, you’ll get your chance a little later

Ray Richmond: Get your stopwatch ready!

TV DRAMA ACTRESS: Jennifer Coolidge (‘The White Lotus: Sicily’)

Charlie Bright: The way this evening has gone so far, I’d be nervous if I was Jennifer.

Ray Richmond: Is this Jennifer again?

Tony Ruiz: God I love Sally Field

Rob Licuria: Amazing.

Charlie Bright: This is why she’s a feckin’ legend

Ray Richmond: For sure.

Marcus James Dixon: Class. Act.

Ray Richmond: Yay Jaclyn.

Jaclyn Ben-Porat: fun fact: i went to her high school and was in said drama department

Rob Licuria: I hope she says it. SAY IT.

Charlie Bright: Though she was amazing in Brothers & Sisters

Ray Richmond: Do you think she’ll say, “You like me, you really like me!”?
Though “The Flying Nun” comes close.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Sally Field

Charlie Bright: I’ve always had a soft spot for her role in Mrs. Doubtfire

Ray Richmond: Norma Rae

Rob Licuria: Fave Sally Field performance. Go! (mine: Brothers and Sisters)

Charlie Bright: How could you miss it?

Rob Licuria: Did you see Eddie Redmayne’s shirt/bowtie eleganza?

Charlie Bright: Bowties are cool, but those giant ones are just an eyesore

Daniel Montgomery: Bow ties are cool

Charlie Bright: Also, I don’t like how the giant ’70s era bowties are making a comeback

That’s BAFTA taking care of their own. It makes perfect sense in hindsight.

Daniel Montgomery: I love it when awards groups go their own way instead of trying to set up the Oscars, so I still kinda love that Keoghan shook things up at the BAFTAs

Marcus James Dixon: Ke Huy Quan losing the BAFTA will remain one of the biggest head-scratchers in awards show history. They look so foolish.

Ray Richmond: Beautiful speech. As expected.

Rob Licuria: Even if Michelle Yeoh doesn’t win … tonight is so good for her. Lots of emotional shout outs to her.

Ray Richmond: Got news for everyone. Michelle Yeoh is winning tonight, too. We’ll see.

Charlie Bright: Still think Cate’s winning Actress

Marcus James Dixon: What’s the SAG film record? Everything Everywhere could win 4.

Ray Richmond: The earth keeps spinning on it’s axis.

Charlie Bright: FINALLY SOMETHING EXPECTED!

Rob Licuria: Is it just me or do we need more films with Ke Huy Quan as a leading man. He is such a compelling performer!

FILM SUPPORTING ACTOR: Ke Huy Quan (‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’)

Tony Ruiz: Supporting actress is now a three way race. And ridiculously hard to call

Rob Licuria: I don’t think she’s winning the Oscar.

Ray Richmond: Angela did win three NAACP Image Awards last night, if that counts.

Rob Licuria: This clip is reminding me how awesome Women Talking is.

Charlie Bright: This category has just turned into utter chaos

Daniel Montgomery: That speech was amazing. And after a strong start, Angela Bassett has been blanked at the industry awards, didn’t see that coming, I’m not sure where to go for the Oscars

Rob Licuria: MCU actors just don’t win. I think…

Marcus James Dixon: Jamie just gave the best speech of the night. Best Supporting Actress has now become a three-person race. Wild! I am not switching away from Angela though — I still have hope.

Rob Licuria: That tear streaming down Michelle Yeoh’s face is EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE y’all.

Ray Richmond: Gotta love that woman.

Tony Ruiz: Omg. She’s killing it at this speech

Ray Richmond: With all due respect to Marcus, yay!

Rob Licuria: Omg!!!! JLC!!!!! Woohoooo!!!

Daniel Montgomery: I love getting clips for every single category. They’d better keep that up until the end

Jaclyn Ben-Porat: whoaaaaa

FILM SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Jamie Lee Curtis (‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’)

Ray Richmond: Ooh! The b-word slips through.

Tony Ruiz: Ooh. Supporting actress

Rob Licuria: Sammme

:fire:
:fire:

Marcus James Dixon: Forgot to mention earlier, but I am so here for Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza’s dry chemistry. I want them to host everything together.

Rob Licuria: Confession time: I love Fran Drescher. That is all.

David Buchanan: The fact that we get old SAG clips instead ads is just so satisfying!

Luca Giliberti: Hopefully Abbott snatches the comedy series Emmy next!!

Daniel Montgomery: Yay! F-bomb, and they didn’t censor it!

TV COMEDY ENSEMBLE: ‘Abbott Elementary’

Ray Richmond: And that’s why I love you, Tony.

Tony Ruiz: Oh Ray…we will fight. And then hug afterwards

Ray Richmond: Jeremy is only a surprise because his show isn’t a comedy. But I’ve dropped this fight. Nice acceptance, however.

TV COMEDY ACTOR: Jeremy Allen White (‘The Bear’)

Tony Ruiz: Oh god. This banter is awful
Even in abstentia, Jean Smart is still the best

Rob Licuria: Just putting this out there: how great is it that there are no ads!!!

David Buchanan: I love that they asked Chris McDonald to accept on her behalf!

Rob Licuria: I feel bad for Christina Applegate. But congrats Jean Smart

TV COMEDY ACTRESS: Jean Smart (‘Hacks’)

Tony Ruiz: Oh boy. Trying to get people to sit down again. It’s like it’s the Golden Globes all over again

Ray Richmond: This is why trying to predict these things is a mighty frustrating business.

Marcus James Dixon: Poor Evan is never gonna win a SAG Award #crying

Tony Ruiz: Sam Elliot deserved this!!!! If you’ve seen 1883 you know that it’s the best performance of his career.

David Buchanan: I feel foolish for switching my pick from Jeff Bridges in Drama Actor, now.

Charlie Bright: This is the first SAG award for Mr. Elliott. His mustache still has yet to win its own trophy.

David Buchanan: We’ve bested Chastain’s number. A whopping 16 folks were predicting Elliott in our predictions center.

Rob Licuria: FINALLY the Sheridanverse has a SAG Award to its collection!

Daniel Montgomery: I’m never betting against the grizzled vet at the SAG Awards ever again LOL

Rob Licuria: ANOTHER WELCOME SURPRISE!! Wooohooo chaos!

Ray Richmond: Holy fuck. Another upset.

TV MOVIE/MINI ACTOR: Sam Elliott (‘1883’)

Rob Licuria:  I love Michelle Yeoh. And now I love her more because her dress looks like it’s covered in pasta and that’s totally my thing.

:it:
:it:

Luca Giliberti: We’re starting with a major upset — let’s keep that up!!

David Buchanan: Only 28 individuals were predicting Chastain!

Ray Richmond: Says Rob “Chaos” Licuria.

Rob Licuria: Jessica Chastain! That’s a great way to start the show! Surprise!!!

TV MOVIE/MINI ACTRESS: Jessica Chastain (“George and Tammy”)

Daniel Montgomery: Feckin’ censors

Rob Licuria: Americans really don’t like f’n cursing!

Janelle James is so funny!!! Can she please host an awards show soon.

Charlie Bright: Did they seriously censor Jamie Lee Curtis on a Netflix broadcast???

Rob Licuria: Niecy Nash-Betts is all of us.

David Buchanan: I love when these awards shows take advantage of the Martins!

Marcus James Dixon: The “Only Murders” trio can do no wrong in my book. A+ intro!
