The post 2023 Grammy Awards: Harry Styles, Beyoncé, and Brandi Carlile Among Big Winners appeared first on Consequence.
Harry Styles, Beyoncé, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Lizzo, and Kendrick Lamar were among the big winners at the 2023 Grammy Awards
Styles took home the top prize, winning Album of the Year for Harry’s House. The UK pop star also won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Not to be outdone, Beyoncé made history by becoming the most decorated artist in Grammy history. Queen Bey added four more Grammys to her trophy case, bringing her career total to 31. Her latest album Renaissance won Best Dance/Electronic Album, while “CUFF IT” nabbed Best R&B Song, “Break My Soul” captured Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and “Plastic Off the Sofa” secured Best Traditional R&B Performance.
Brandi Carlile walked away with three Grammys, including Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Broken Horses,” and Best Americana Album for In These Silent Days.
Bonnie Raitt also won three Grammys, including a surprise victory in the Record of the Year category for “Just Like That.” She also won Best American Roots Song for “Just Like That” and Best Americana Performance for “Made Up Mind.”
Lizzo only one won Grammy, but it was a big one: “About Damn Time” took home Song of the Year.
Kendrick Lamar dominated the hip-hop category, winning Best Rap Album for Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, and Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “The Heart Part Five.”
Other artists taking home multiple Grammys included Ozzy Osbourne (Rock Album and Metal Performance), Wet Leg (Alternative Music Album and Alternative Music Performance), and Willie Nelson (Country Album and Country Solo Performance).
Additionally, Viola Davis achieved EGOT status with her Grammy win for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording. And Dave Chappelle once again got the last laugh as his controversial comedy special The Closer won Best Comedy Album.
For the second year in a row, Jack Antonoff won Producer of the Year. Tobias Jesso Jr., the former indie rocker-turned-go-to-songwriter for artists like Adele and Harry Styles, took home the inaugural trophy for Songwriter of the Year.
