Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” officially has a shot at defending its Best Comedy Series title for the third year in a row. On its presumed final outing, it faces four shows it has defeated before, plus three new ones.

“Ted Lasso” is the most-recognized comedy program of the year with 21 nominations, which is one more than it received in both 2021 and 2022. Its repeat challengers are concluded series “Barry” (HBO) and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Prime Video) and ongoing shows “Abbott Elementary” (ABC) and “Only Murders in the Building” (Hulu). “Maisel,” which prevailed here in 2018 before competing in 2019, 2020, and 2022, faced off against “Barry” on all but its third try.
