There will be 69 trophies handed out at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, November 19. So who will the big winners be? Gold Derby users have placed their bets here in our predictions center. Those predictions have been combined to generate our official racetrack odds. Scroll down to see those odds in 17 hotly contested categories. Our projected winners are highlighted in gold. But there’s still time for you to make or update your own forecasts before this weekend’s winners are unveiled.

The BBMAs were previously handed out in the spring, but this year they moved to the fall to align with Billboard’s year-end charts, whose tracking period is November 19, 2022 through October 21, 2023. Winners are based on popularity, but fans don’t get to vote for their favorites online, per se. Instead, these awards are decided by the same audience interaction metrics that determine the weekly Billboard charts, including album sales, song sales, radio airplay and online streams.

More from GoldDerby

Taylor Swift enters with the most nominations: she’s a finalist in 20 categories, including Top Artist, which she has won twice before. Her chart achievements over the past year include a couple of number-one albums — “Midnights” and “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” — plus a couple of number-one songs — “Anti-Hero” and “Cruel Summer.” Next up with 17 citations is Morgan Wallen, who is also up for Top Artist; he spent 16 weeks at number-one with his album “One Thing at a Time” and also with his single “Last Night.” SZA is also up for 17 awards; her sophomore album “SOS” was number-one for 10 weeks, a remarkable feat for an R&B album in this day and age.

These awards will follow a unique format, with winners announced through Billboard’s social channels and on BBMAs.watch. Performers at the event will include Bebe Rexha, Peso Pluma, Tate McRae and Mariah Carey. Check out the complete list of artists taking the stage.
