2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards Red Carpet Celebrates Generations Of Black Music

From artists of Hip-Hop’s golden age to the rising acts driving rap’s new wave, the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards brought generations of talent to the red carpet. Filmed earlier this month in Atlanta, the celebration aired on Tuesday (Oct. 11) with performances, cyphers, and more paying cultural homage. Hosted by Fat Joe, the “non-stop” party honored Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, and Marley Marl for their career contributions.

The performance lineup included special sets from GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Offset, DaBaby, and more. Additionally, a deejay and producer tribute performance featuring Kid Capri, Kool DJ Red Alert, Scott Storch, and Spinderella highlighted the genre’s musical architects. Additionally, BET honored So So Def and its 30th year anniversary with a tribute performance featuring Jermaine Dupri, and more. Tip “T.I.” Harris, Nelly, City Girls, Fabolous, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Tyrese, Chingy, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Holiday, D-Nice, and Technician the DJ all took the stage at the annual event.

21 Savage, Cardi B, Drake, Coi Leray, DJ Khaled, and J. Cole all led this year’s list of nominations. As for the show, attendees included Lady London, Flo Milli, Rakim, Big Tigger, Fridayy, Hitmaka, Scar Lip, Lola Brooke, Jadakiss, Boosie Badazz, Safaree, DaBrat, and more.
