2022 Oscar Nominations Announced

The 2022 Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan. The 94^th annual Academy Awards will take place on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

“The Power of The Dog,” starring real-life couple Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons earned the most nominations with 12, with each of them also getting a nod for Best Support Actress and Best Support Actor.

“Dune” came in second place with 10 nominations. The sci-fi film starring Tom Holland and Zendaya earned honors in many categories including Best Picture but there was no nomination for acting for the actors of the film.

“Belfast” and “West Side Story” each were nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Beyoncé and Billie Eilish were both nominated for their first Oscar on Tuesday for the Best Original Song category. Beyoncé wrote “Be Alive” from “King Richard” while Billie Eilish alongside her brother Finneas O’Connell wrote “No Time to Die” from the James Bond flick of the same name.
